Way to go Phil and Aaron, thank you. Does anyone know where to find it? Is there any chance there will be some automated way to get this in Daphne someday in the future? With over 30 million dollars in sales in the first 40 days, and grossing more than 32 million dollars in the first eight months in the arcades, it seemed unstoppable. I've been meaning someday to convert my Dragon's Lair 2:Time Warp Blu-Ray to Daphne. As of now Daphne does not support these versions, but there are people who figured out a way. Gameplay is not arcade accurate, the video compression is medium quality. The other laser disc titles are fairly easy to get but Dragon's Lair is still actively supported. You'll have to choose the correct move in the correct time frame, like the original game.
Thanks Wasn't planning on it. I think I probably have about 10 days to return it after I receive it so let me know if this sounds like what I should do or not. I'll put Daphne in this perspective. . . Most of the known lasergames are yet in the capable hands of Giles and the mamedevs, and the should now be reduced with time.
This european version of the game is a Special Edition. Giles himself had announced, , that the endless debate on the lasergames addition to the emulator would had given way to facts and concrete coding work. Dragon's Lair used a laserdisc player, and the animations in the game were stored on a laserdisc. Video quality compression is medium, and moves in the games are not 100% arcade accurate. The results are well worth it. .
The in-game moves are not totally arcade acurate. Dragon's Lair was released in June of 1983, but was a full 6 years in the making. One of the best conversions in my opinion regarding the video quality. You'd have to do the work yourself. .
Then you can combine the m2vs into one file using virtual dub and comparing side by side with the downloaded m2v ensuring that all frames match up you can have a working solution. . . This particular version has been sold with a german instructions book. Any chance daphne will ever support it??? Note that is one of the first games done in cell shading ever made. It's such a waste of awesome quality video for an inaccurate version.
I've been playing around with Daphne over the last few days and have most of the available games set up. A Wii console can easily be added to the Mame cabinet; a classic control adapter wired into to the arcade control. My question is what version is better? If those are the discs you're talking about, why bother with an emulator? I have an X-Arcade Tankstick and it's easier to just go into individual games and change the key mappings if they allow it rather than messing with the the X-arcade presets. Or, to balance the filesize, they could map out which frames the games start displaying each segment from, and force those frames to be I-frames, while the frames that aren't directly called by the game and aren't hard scene changes that would need to be I-frames anyway can be P- or B-frames although B-frames suck and should be avoided. Need to try it, and take snapshoots. S In Arcade Authenic Mode, the Game Plays just like the Arcade, which means that the Scenes play out in the semi-random order, and there is no Draw Bridge Scene and some of the amimation is not used.
It has the slight Black Out Pause, just like the Arcade version of the Game, between each change of Scenes Death or Next. Daphne seemed to be working fine at a fraction of the space. And if you haven't played Timeshock on your cabinets, well, you are missing out. Support Emuparadise: Sponsor Message: Share with your Friends:. .
Dragon's Lair was a hit from the start. The quality is pretty pixelated and crappy. I want these for my Mame cabinet. . . Them Who Shot Johnny Rock? But that is fine for me. The Picture and Sound Quality is Better than the Original Game.
. . I mean it's not a sequence of move to memorize, but it's a real arcade game 'a la tomb raider'. This website was created by , 1997 - 2019.
